| Thought I should post this for all members living in the OC, also I wish to learn more about what is going on. Over the past two weeks or so there were two seperate incidents where street racers killed some people, so the cops are cracking down. There have been several newspaper articles on all the "illegal modifications" to watch out for and all the "signs" of street racers. Two of my friends have now been harrased and I am worried that when I get my Z, tomorrow or the next day, that I too will run into problems. One was just driving around in his brand new Maxima with Greddy exhaust and some Wheels,and he ws pulled over. The cop told him his exhaust was illegal and that "any monkey could tell it was modified." This guy is a manager for AandZ Construction and is by no means a ricer or crazy driver. He was made to pop his hood and then was questioned on his intake. It is straight from Stillen and was installed there. It has a carb sticker on it, althought the cop dismissed it and wrote him a ticket anyways for his mods. Another drives a WRX and was fueling up at the gas station a few nights ago when the cops surrounded him, 4 cars total. His engine was off, but apparently they heard his BOV. They forced him to pop his hood as well and then demanded to know what his BOV and top mount intercooler were. They wrote him an exhaust ticket and he has to go smog which is 30 bucks. They never even tested his exhaust decible wise or had him turn on his car. They wasted an hour and a half and kept him until 130am at the gas station. Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen in SoCal. Also, none of this was based on their driving, that was not in question. This happened in Mission Viejo and Rancho Santa Margurita. Also, the car I am getting you all know well, I will post pics soon enough. Damn Columbus day held up my loan, so I have to wait 'till tomorrow.
